Granny Block Blankie

Some very special people will be receiving this blanket in the mail soon. My mother-in-law told me about a granny squares baby blanket, and I had to make one. I liked it so much I decided to put out a pattern.

MATERIALS
[MC] Bellezza Collection Tesoro, 100% wool, 6 - 50 g skeins, color: Pink (945);
[CC] Bellezza Collection Tesoro, 100% wool, 3 - 50 g skeins, color: White (8000);
1 US J/10/6.0mm crochet hook
GAUGE
3.5 inch x 3.5 inch granny square
PATTERN
Granny Squares:
Row 1: Tie a loop the size of the hook. Ch 3, dc 2 into loop, ch 2, *dc 3 into loop, ch2* three times. Sl into first ch 3 to complete round.
Row 2: Sl 2 to get to next space. Ch 3, dc 2 into space, ch2, dc 3 into same space, ch 1. *dc 3 into space, ch 2, dc 3 into same space, ch 1* three times, one for each corner. Sl into first ch3 to complete round.
Row 3: Sl 2 to get to next space. Ch 3, dc 2 into space, ch2, dc 3 into same space, ch 1, dc 3 into next space, ch 1. *dc 3 into next space, ch 2, dc 3 into same pace, ch 1, dc 3 into next space, ch 1* three times. Sl to complete round. Cut and tie off, weave in ends.
Square Colors (from inside to outside):
A = Pink, Pink, Pink, 20 squares
B = White, Pink, Pink, 4 squares
C = Pink, White, Pink, 4 squares
D = Pink, Pink, White, 4 squares
E = White, Pink, White, 3 squares
F = White, White, White, 1 square

Arange blocks and seam with Pink yarn.
Exterior
Row 1: Main Color Pink (MC) granny stitch outside perimiter, start in in upper left-hand corner. To start the granny stitch, ch 3, dc 2 in corner space, ch 2, dc 3 in same space, ch 1.
Granny Stitch Continued: dc 3 in space, ch 1 for flat portions. dc 3 in corner space, ch 2, dc3 in same space, ch 1 for corner stitching. Sl to complete round.
Row 2: (MC) granny stitch outside perimter. Break yarn and tie off.
Row 3: Contrasting Color White (CC) fishnet stitch down long side.
Fishnet stitch: Sl 1 into previous row to start. *Ch5, sc into space*, repeat 30 times for length of blanket (150 st).
Row 4-7: Sc into previous row, and continue fishnet stitch. Break yarn and tie off at the end of row 7.
Turn blanket around to work on the other long side.
Row 8: repeat row 3.
Row 9-12: repeat rows 4-7.
Row 13: (MC) repeat row 1.
Row 14: (MC) repeat row 2.
FINISHING
Weave in ends and block.
